J. Crew menswear at New York Fashion Week

On February 14, J. Crew presented its menswear collection for the second time at New York Fashion Week. Although the rumpled khakis and washed button-downs for which the company is famed will certainly still be available in its stores, the face designer Frank Muytjens is putting forth is one of sophisticated comfort and refined simplicity. I am a big fan of the direction the company has been taking in recent years, particularly with its menswear and the exclusive collaborations with Barbour, Woolrich, and others. It’s an appreciation of heritage without the pretension of some other retailers who shall remain nameless.
